Crucifixion or resurrection: what do you want to focus on?

posted by Susan Gregg

lent (1) We have spent 40 days focusing on love. The message of Jesus was love, pure unconditional love, free of judgment, turn the other cheek, judge not kind of love. I have long thought it was interesting that early Christians decide to adopt the crucifixion as the symbol rather than the resurrection but that’s just me – I’d rather focus on love and create more love to move toward instead of focusing on suffering and then create suffering to move away from.

In you own life: love or suffering?

Angels are the epitome of love. Their only message is love and acceptance, acceptance and love. If we choose to see life through the eyes of the angels we will choose to focus on love and see life through the perspective of love. Suffering is always created by our resistance to ______. You fill in the blank about what you are resisting at the moment. It comes down to the question of perspective: is the glass half empty or half full? The glass is the same just our perspective changes and as a result our experience.

Angels and great teachers like Jesus, Buddha, Lao Tse and Amma see a very different world than most of us do and as a result have greater impact on the world. They see only the love.

Ending all suffering

This finally week of Lent I invite you to make the decision to release suffering in your life and fully embrace joy, grace, love, ease and gratitude. Whatever you focus  your attention on you get more of so focus on seeing life through the eyes of love instead of judgment and fear. When I look at what happened in Japan I see many opportunities to see love and kindness in action and choose to focus my attention on that rather than the nuclear events or all the people that died. I look at death not as a tragic ending but merely as a change of address. I see death as a new beginning.

Just for this week ask the angels to help you see life through their eyes and their eyes alone. If you like the results you can decide to do it on a regular basis. It certainly would be a very different world if more people decided to do that. Join me this week and see what happens and as we say here in Hawaii, tie your slippers tight it will be quite a ride!

With love and aloha,
Susan

Thanks so much for your thoughtful post! I so agree with you! So many people spend their days (and nights) focused on the half empty glass rather than what is half full. When they focus their attention and energy on what IS NOT there, they miss so much that IS there.

We are all on this earth for a purpose and if we listen to that angel on your shoulder, you will follow where he/she leads you to find that your glass has always been and will always be not only half full but full. It’s all in how you look at it. By simply changing our perspective, we can find new life and love all around us. It’s amazing that when we remove the blinders, we can see what was always there!

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts! They touched me deeply!

Thanks for these past 40 days, Susan and for this lovely Lenten post. It is indeed a monumental shift to focus on redemption instead of “sin” or crucifixion. May you be blessed richly during this holy week, as you have blessed us with these writings. I recall growing up saying at this time of year, “If this week is holy, then aren’t they all holy? And what about the holy land? Either all land is holy, or none of it is. Either everyone is “saved” or none of us are.” Yeah, that didn’t go over too well. Thirty years later, I’m kind of still asking the same questions.

It is said that there are (at least) 3 types of beings incarnate now on earth: original Earth people, people who incarnate from other worlds of the Universe, and Angelic people. Most of them are here to help the Transition. The Angelic people are recognized easily because they are very easy to abuse. They cannot conceive evil, and lack the wish to get even, or to hurt another. To the parents who raise a little Angelic child: They need a lot of care and love, this is the normal thing in the celestial home we come from, but also a gentle nudge to do sports, Martial Arts, the art of safeguarding the body in a non-violent way.

Why angels?
People often want to talk to angels, connect with them or be guided by them. Why? I often wonder why angels? My theory is that people are seeking the love. Angels are never judgmental and they radiate love. As human beings we often forget that we live surrounded by love and that at a core leve

How to talk to the angels
I get asked this question all the time. It really is very easy but our minds can make it so much harder. We can doubt what we are hearing or sensing or feeling. You are always surrounded by angels. The moment you ask them for help they are there. The problem is we often don't let the help in.
