One of my favorite questions is: How can I see this through the eyes of the angels? When I ask that question, am willing to really listen to the answer and follow the guidance the quality of my life improves dramatically. What a different world this would be if more people did the same.

Angels are very fluid, flexible and unconditionally loving. As a human being I tend to like rules: this is right and that is wrong. When there are rules there is a clear definition, you know where to stand and there are lots of opportunities to judge.

When I look at my life, judgment has never taken me to a place of peace, joy, love and deepening connection with my spirit. It has allowed me to feel safe for a moment or two, to find allies that will help me shore up my judgment but ultimately it never took me to the shores of love.

Angels would love both sides of an emotionally charged issue like
Proposition 8. Something I admit I have a hard time doing when one of
its opponents, claiming to be a Christian equated their cause to Martin Luther King, Jr who spent
his life battling prejudice.

Okay: How can I see all of life
through the eyes of the angles, especially Christians who preach hate?  By
taking a lot of deep breaths and focusing on that profound sense of love
the angels always bring me and then sending them that love.

Next time you are tempted to judge anyone or anything remember to take a deep breath and love instead. I know I am practicing that as often as I can.

With love and aloha,
Susan
