Whatever we focus our attention on we get more of, so if we focus on fear we create more fear. What if we say yes to love instead? What if we love even our fear?

I so often get questions from people about how to overcome their fear. They ask me how to stop themselves from thinking negative thoughts that evoke fear. If I say to you, “Whatever you do don’t think about a bright red tomato,” chances are you weren’t thinking about a tomato until I told you not to.

If you decide not to think negative thoughts or to avoid thinking about fear you actually have to think about them in order not to think about them. So the logical choice is to embrace love and simply decide to think about love.

If you find something to be celebrate about everything you have feared in the past your life will change immediately and for the better.

When I didn’t have enough money to pay my bills I decided to celebrate my bills. I made a box, decorated it with angels, hearts, dollar bills and wrote easy and effortless all over the sides. When I would get a bill I would say a prayer of thanks. I was grateful that someone entrusted me to pay them and affirmed the abundance necessary to do so easily and effortlessly. Instead of worrying about money I gave thanks. I certainly felt better at the end of the day and my finances changed.

Focus on gratitude and celebrating life instead of fear and your life will change for the better. Keep focusing on fear and chances are it will stay the same. The choice is your moment by moment and thought by thought.
