Angels certainly play a pivotal role in the Christmas story. First they talk to both Mary and Joseph and then they tell the Wise men where to go look for Jesus.

What would you do if an angel came and talked to you personally? A physical, in the flesh, so to speak, angel talking directly to you? What do you think your reaction would be?

I used to jokingly say, “I just want God to leave me a note on my nightstand, so there is no confusion. Then I would know I was loved and clearly know what choices to make.”  I said that once while I was speaking. That night I stayed at a woman’s house that worked at the bookstore. She jokingly told me she was tempted to leave me a note during the night but she wasn’t sure what to say.

I was at the doctors office earlier today and heard the song, “Hark the Herald Angels Sing” and for a moment I felt a little bit sad. This is my first Christmas without a living parent but then I thought of all the love that surrounds me and the sadness passed.

To me this is a time of year to celebrate the love of the angelic realms and the birth of the energy of God within each of us, no matter what religion we have or don’t have. All of the major world’s religions have some sort of a celebration this time of year. To me Christmas is a time for me to celebrate the spirit in everyone and everything.

So whether you are Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist or atheist I say “Namaste, the spirit in me celebrates the spirit in you.”

With lots of love, aloha and wonderment,
Susan
