a profusion much greater
than one woman deserves.
Thank You for the bonds
forged by women's hearts,
for tangible evidence
of Your enduring love.
Knowing You could not
be present in flesh,

Taking a look at an Ancient Archetype

Around this time of year, it's only appropriate to take a moment to appreciate one of the most famous women of all time. No, she didn't get naked in public for a living.

No, she didn't have more money than God.
She didn't check herself into rehab or run for public office, nor did she gain fans until centuries after the time of her actions. She did, according to Christian beliefs, give birth to the son of God, though. No biggie.

Resolved: I will not be making any New Year's resolutions this year. When you think about it, it makes sense. Why should a tick in the calendar make any difference in our lives? If it wasn't a priority yesterday, what makes it one today? Besides, how many resolutions really get, well, resolved? Not many. After week two, it's back to our old ways.

And maybe that's okay.
