Keep Me Company, Lord

Dear Lord:

Most days I am fine

Just to laugh with my friends,

Work hard at my job, experience fully this world You've made.

But some days, Lord, I can't help noticing,

Hands clasped together,

Smiles shared, knowing looks

Days when it seems everyone but me

Has found a certain someone

To enjoy this good world with.

I've known what it means to be lonely.

Most days I'm fine, Lord,

Just to know You've got great plans for me.

But I thought it wouldn't hurt to mention,

That if those plans should include a certain someone,

You know I wouldn't mind.

Keep me company meantime, will You Lord?
