This Thanksgiving, November 27th, CNN’s Anderson Cooper will host "CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute" to honor the Top 10 CNN Heroes of 2008. Thanksgiving is a perfect time to celebrate the extraordinary and inspiring contributions people around the world make to their communities and to the greater good. These global heroes got us thinking about some of the unsung heroes a little closer to home, so we asked our readers to tell us about the everyday heroes in their own lives.

From a woman who was inspired by her friend’s battle with cancer to a compassionate child and a resilient hamster—heroes come in all forms.
