This collection of short tales by Dr. Seuss show just how brilliant the author truly was. He managed to take a nonsensical story about imaginary creatures named Sneetches who are obsessed with belly stars and a unscrupulous salesman named Sylvester McMonkey McBean, and turn it into a thought-provoking morality tale about prejudice, conformity, materialism, and ethics. It’s that effortless combination of lightheartedness and seriousness that ensures I, and millions of other parents like me, will be reading The Sneetches and Other Stories to our children for years to come.
