Myth # 3
Nobody wants to be around someone who is sick, and so a life with illness is a lonely – and unhappy – life. All around us are people, angels, really, who do not care about superficial things, but about the individual friend, spouse, coworker, or even stranger whom they love. As we experience illness, we embrace these special people who fill our lives with their willingness to care, and we desire to care for them, too. Perhaps some relationships do fall apart because illness is, to some, intolerable. But we need never feel alone, with so many angels around us!
