May 2000--According to a recent Newsweek poll, 48 percent of Americans--that's nearly half--have personally experienced a miracle. This exceptionally good news, whether or not you believe a personal God is behind these occurrences, because it means that situations, even dire ones, can inexplicably change for the better.

Newsweek Religion editor Ken Woodward, who recently published "The Book of Miracles," was behind the poll. It also found that 84% of Americans believe that God performs miracles and 63% know of someone who has experienced one.

But nothing beats that 48%--half of you reading this--who have experienced direct intervention in your own lives. Want to tell us about it?
