Phyllis Curott
Wiccan high priestess, attorney, author, and activist

A Wiccan high priestess, attorney, author, and activist, Phyllis Curott has been described by New York Magazine as one of the culture's hippest and most intellectually cutting-edge speakers. She lectures and teaches around the world, and is the author of the internationally best-selling "Book of Shadows," "WitchCrafting: A Spiritual Guide to Making Magic," and "The Love Spell: An Erotic Memoir of Spiritual Awakening."

As an activist for global peace and interfaith understanding, Curott is a member of the Assembly of World Religious Leaders. She has addressed the Parliament of the World's Religions as a keynote speaker along with the Dalai Lama. And as a member of the United Nations' NGO Committee on the Status of Women, she helped plan the U.N.'s Beijing Forum on the Status of Women.

Curott received her B.A. in philosophy from Brown University and her Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law. She continues to practice law and spends as much time as possible with her Cairn terrier Webster in their home on the east end of Long Island, where she writes, sails, gardens, cooks, reads, and rests.
