Henry Lee Clay, Jr., is a dynamic leader who has reached many through his preaching and teaching as pastor of New Beginnings Christian Ministries International in Newark, New Jersey. A native of Montclair and Newark, Pastor Clay focuses his ministry on caring for a suffering community and providing a place to relieve that pain.

Pastor Clay attended Newark State College (now known as Kean University), Alma College, (B.S.) and holds a master’s degree from the Graduate School of Divinity. He is continuing his graduate work at the Northwestern Theological Seminary as a candidate for the Master of Theology degree.

He has served as an elected member of the Essex County Democratic Committee and as leader of District Number 6 of the City of Orange.

Pastor Clay dedicates his ministry to the memory of both of his late grandmothers, Pastor Leah Yarborough and Sister Lelia Clay, whose deep love and abiding faith are his inspiration.

Pastor Clay is married to the former Barbara Byrd and together they have five children.
