I wake up every morning
and I expect to do
the same thing each day.
Put on my slippers, throw on my robe,
and eat my cornflakes on the way.

But there is one thing that I do
that I take time for no matter the rush.
I gaze in the mirror at myself
during the time my mouth I brush.

What I gaze at is the fact
that I am still here
and I'm able to do my early routine.
I have another chance to face
the unknown day,
the things that are unseen.

But my mirror shows me one thing
and that one thing
no matter what I face
and for me that's so complete.
My mirror allows me to see the best
that I still have in me.
