6 Christian Leaders Shaping the Future of Christian America

There are many men and women who influence the way we think and make decisions in our daily lives. Some of these leaders or “influencers” are not necessarily people in authority. There are many good, honest and well-intentioned leaders; however, there are also many leaders that don’t have the best intentions for us. These same people are moved by power, fame, or financial motivations. It’s important that we tell the difference between someone who just wants our applause and money and someone who is hands on when it is needed to work hard to establish Christian values in this country. Here are six Christian leaders who are shaping the future of America. They are great examples of people who we can admire and emulate. They may not be perfect, but their trajectory and the strength of their convictions can be seen in their commitment to teaching, defending family values, promoting our freedom to worship and nurturing our faith.

Jay Sekulow

Jay Sekulow is probably one of the most influential on the battleground to uphold Christian values, not only in America but also around the world. God uses Jay mightily when standing against the forces of darkness that look to establish a foothold against our freedom to worship and to teach and believe the word of God freely. He stands against Christian persecution and is always on alert for new threats against freedom and Christian values. He is a multifaceted man who makes good use of his talents for the Kingdom of God. He is Chief Counsel for the American Centre for Law & Justice and hosts his own talk show that airs on radio and TV that reaches millions of avid viewers.

T.D. Jakes

Thomas Dexter Jakes is the founder and Bishop of The Potter’s House in Dallas Texas, a non-denominational megachurch with over 30,000 members. T.D. Jakes evangelistic sermons are broadcast on the Trinity Broadcasting Network, Daystar Television Network, The Word Network and Black Entertainment Television. His ministry hosts an annual revival called “Megafest” that pulls over 100,000 people from all over the world. He has an annual conference called “Woman Thou Art Loosed” which also inspired a movie of the same name. He is the author of over 30 books, a mentor to many and the producer of seven movies, five of which were released in theaters worldwide. Jakes’ influence travels far and wide and goes beyond denominationalism and race.

Bill Hybels is the pastor of Willow Creek Community Church. He is not only a pastor and a writer but also a leader of leaders. Bill Hybels is the creator of the Global Leadership Summit (GLS) and also an author of a number of Christian books, especially on the subject of Christian leadership. She has rescued many people from the pits of sadness, defeat and depression thanks to her transformative ministry. Her personal story is living proof of God’s power. Meyer was sexually abused by her father until she was 18 and spent many years in fear and shame. Though the pain and suffering ran deep, Meyer was able to find healing through God’s love. She shares her testimony with others because she wants them to know the power of God’s grace and find healing in Him.
