BEIJING, January 23 (Xinhua)--Hoodwinked by the evil fallacies of Li Hongzhi, leader of the Falun Gong cult, five Falun Gong followers set themselves ablaze on Tiananmen Square in central Beijing Tuesday afternoon.

One Falun Gong follower (female) was burnt to death and the other four injured in two suicidal blazes which occurred at about 14:40 hours (Beijing Time).

The followers, including a man and four women, soaked themselves in gasoline and set themselves on fire. The police on duty were quick to rescue those involved. The injured were rushed to the hospital.

Police sources said the five Falun Gong followers were from Kaifeng City, central Henan Province.
