Ian and Larissa

Ian and Larissa exhibited the conventional story of young love, until Ian suffered a traumatic brain injury in a horrific car accident just 10 months into their relationship. Their love was tested as Ian laid in a coma in a hospital bed. They couple had previously discussed marriage, but Ian lost his ability to speak.

For the next two years, Ian worked to regain his ability to talk until he finally was able to ask the girl he loved if they could get married. The couple married on 8-28-2010, a date that referred to their favorite Bible passage, Romans 8:28: “and we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose” (ESV).

Margaret and Don

Margaret was suffering from cancer while Don was fighting to breathe due to medical complications. They went to the hospital and were placed on different floors. Their daughter, Pattie, fought with doctors for months when they finally agreed to let the couple be together in one room.

After 59 years of marriage, Margaret and Don passed way together holding hands. The couple – inseparable since the day they met – spent their last few days holding hands, side by side in a single hospital room. They passed away within hours of each other.

Beaver remembers sitting at her father’s bedside and being in awe when he said of his wife, “When we get to heaven, we can walk in together, just like we’re getting married again. Another honeymoon.”

When Ashley and Christopher found each other, it didn’t take long before they realized God had brought them together. The couple had been dating for two years when Ashley posted a photo online of them together. The photo went viral and mean, hateful and despicable comments were made about Christopher’s weight.

The couple found strength in the Lord and chose to display compassion and forgiveness in the face of cruelty. Ashley defended her relationship, saying “Once I gave my life to Christ and saw examples of Godly marriages and relationships, I wanted that. God saw the desires of my heart and gave me Christopher. He brings me closer to God through prayer, and his love. I know God will use us both for awesome things because we make a great team!”

At the age of five, Adrian and Brooke were forced to walk down the aisle together at a friend’s wedding. But little did anyone know that God had special plans for this little ring bearer and flower girl. The two remained friends, and in middle school began to see each other in a different light. They began dating all throughout high school, and it became very clear to everyone that they were always meant to be together.

After 17 years, the couple returned to the same church where God had first brought them together and got married. The two are happily married, and praised God for their relationship. Brooke stated “for God to bring our steps together this far, we know our steps have been ordered by the Lord.”

Matt and Danielle

Danielle and Matt had been married for seven months when Matt was involved in a serious motorcycle crash that put him into a coma. Just nine days after the accident, doctors told Danielle that he only had a 10 percent chance of ever waking up. They suggested that they removed him from life support and let him go.

Danielle refused. Over the next three months, Danielle dressed, changed, fed and bathed Matt. She didn’t give up on her new husband and God blessed her with a miracle. One day, Danielle was asking Matt to reach for a toy motorcycle and out of nowhere, he did. Since then, Matt has been able to regain his sense of humor, long-term memory and ability to speak.
