5 Ways Our Departed Pets Communicate With Us

Pets leave a forever paw print on our heart as soon as they choose us to be their human partners. For some the grief from the death of a beloved pet is worse than losing a person. Our pets rely on us for everything. They don’t care about income, if you sing {badly} in the shower, or about your past. The bond between pets and their human partners are not broken by death. Many pet owners describe the love they have for their pet much like they describe the love they have for a human child or a soulmate.

Some people are more open to the communication from the other side, but that doesn’t mean that the signs don’t continue if you aren’t picking up on them. The methods of communication are similar to the same methods we use in contacting our deceased humans. It is through those signs that they share their continued loved, and sometimes even forever protection.

Afterlife communication with pets can help the grieving process. Although their physical body is gone, and the missing is intense, the communication from them in the afterlife helps to ease the sadness. Through the different ways they send us signs, goes a long way to soothe the pain of the physical sense of loss we experience.

Our pet’s love is purely unconditional. They just want to be loved and to share their love. That same sentiment continues into the afterlife and is communicated to their owner here on earth through several different means by utilizing different types of senses.

Dream of Their Love From the Other Side

One of the ways our pets on the other side share they are okay is through visitations in our sleep state.

A visitation is different than a dream as it is very detailed and filled with a feeling of peace. Visitations offer a message or vivid experience. Animals often communicate with the means of telepathy or through empathy in the visit sate, so you may hear a message in your mind or simply feel the message of love. Upon waking you may feel sad, and even confused, because visitations are personal and feel so real. Some have stated that after the visitation they ran around their home looking for their pet, forgetting that the passing occurred.

Everyone can receive a visit. Simply ask your pet to visit in your dream state, ask your angels to help with that energy and that you remember the visit upon waking, and believe it can happen.

Hear Their Love From the Other Side

It isn’t until your pet departs for the other side when it is realized how deafening the silence from the lack of noise in the house can be. The sounds they made in life can be ways your pet shows they are still around from the other side. Some noises include:

The noise of the identification tag jingling with the shake of the head.
The nails clicking on the hardwood floor as they ran to the kitchen to be fed.
A happy bark of greeting.
The meow for a treat.
A purr of contentment.
The rolling gentle snore.
Rattling around a cage.
A bell they might’ve rung to go outside or one on their collar.
Playing with the various toys.
Even the arguing with their other pet siblings.

No matter the type of pet, part of their personality includes the normal sounds they made through their day. Your pet on the other side may still try to come through with their special noise to let you know they are still with you.

Smell Their Love From the Other Side

Our deceased loved ones can show that they are around us through a recognizable memorable scent such as perfume, flowers, or cigar or cigarette smoke. Our pets on the other side can also leave their scent to show they are around as well. Scent isn’t the most prevalent sense to denote their heavenly hello, but there are several smells our pets leave as a means to let their owner know they are doing well in the afterlife. These include:

The smell of their shampoo.
The scent of a flea collar.
The scent of their fur or dander.
The scent of their wet fur after rain or a bath.
The scent of their breath.
The smell of their flatulence.
The smell of their pet food.
The smell of their bedding.

Most animals have an amazing sense of smell, so it is no wonder that scent is a means your pet sends as a sign. But just as the scent your pet sends comes upon quickly, it leaves just as fast, leaving you with their heaven hello.

See Their Love From the Other Side

Our pets on the other side don’t want to frighten us, but they do want to show that they are around. Some of the ways they do this is through the sense of seeing.

Our departed pets can come through in a variety of ways such as that shadow you see out of the corner of your eye, in the peripheral vision. Just as you turn to see what it is, the image almost always disappears.

Our pets can show they are around through messages you see with your eyes like:

Reoccurring numbers.
Signs in nature like a butterfly or bird.
Seeing an animal that resembles your pet that’s crossed over.
Small objects like feathers, coins, or a stone.

It is rare for your departed pet to show themselves in a full apparition, ghost like form, but it isn’t inconceivable. Often when you see your pet it is during your visitation/dream state.

Feel Their Love from the Other Side

Spirit vibrates with a higher energy. Much like when you take flight on an airplane and meet your altitude, you may feel a variety of physical symptoms. When your departed pet visits with you may also feel something very similar. Some of those symptoms include:

A cold chill.
Goosebumps.
A shiver down your spine.
You may feel tightness in your chest.
A feeling of anxiety.
Ringing of the ears.
Popping of heaviness in the ears.
A feeling of static electricity.
A bout of deep sadness that comes from nowhere.
A scratchy throat.

Some grieving pet owners have experienced the spirit of their pet jump on their bed. Some have felt the pitter patter of their kitty kneading bread. Some have felt their pet crawl in their lap. Others have the lick from a kiss or a wet nose. Some have felt the brush of their fur against their skin.

Feeling your pet from the other side takes stepping outside of your comfort zone and believing.

The bond we have with our pet is unconditional and pure, and because of love when our pets pass, that grief can be unbearable. There’s no easy snap-your-fingers-fast-pass-get-over-it way to grieve. The repair to the grieving heart is a complicated formula individualized. Nothing will make the hurt go away, but the awareness that our pets do cross over into the afterlife and communicates with us from their new home can help buffer the loss a bit.

Just as we can communicate with our human loved ones, the communication with our pets is also more than possible; it’s just staying open to the signs. The communication from our pets on the other side is to help alleviate our grief over the tremendous void caused by their passing, but also to let us know they are okay, forever united by love, and that they will wait for us when it’s our time to join them into the afterlife.
