How many times do you think you use your phone - not to just talk but to check your Facebook, search something on the internet, text someone or whatever else you can use your phone for these days. Odds are that parents use their phone a lot more than their parents ever did because of the advances in technology. Try to limit your phone usage when your children are around. Otherwise they'll pick up on your phone usage and use that as an excuse when you scold them for their over active phone time.

Also, you do not want to send the message to your children that they are not as important as your phone. It's okay to answer a text or call but it is not healthy to never put the phone down.
