A Father’s Responsibilities

“He must be one who manages his own household well, keeping his children under control with all diginity…” -1 Timothy 3:4

“Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” –Ephesians 6:4

“For He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, which He commanded our fathers that they should teach them to their children, that the generation to come might know, even the children yet to be born, that they may arise and tell them to their children, that they should put their confidence in God and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments…” –Psalm 78:5-7

Mortar: Steadfastness

When building a home, bricks are useless without mortar. Bricks make the walls strong, but mortar is what keeps the wall intact and stable. Another word for “stable” is “steadfast.”

“We give thanks to God always for all of you, making mention of you in our prayers; constantly bearing in mind your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the presence of our God and Father…” -1 Thessalonians 1:2-3

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.” -1 Corinthians 15:58
