6 Prayers for Peace on Earth

Tragic events have become a mainstream event. Each day we turn on the TV, open the newspaper or check out the latest news online and tragedy strikes every day. It’s as if one event has snowballed into one catastrophic event after another. As spectators we must turn to our faith to find salvation amidst the turmoil. Prayers for peace on earth can help the people of our world find closure and goodwill. Knowing that faith can be the answer to a void that combats our fears is reassuring.

The power of the Christian word can overcome any evil that it’s up against. It’s important to recognize how we as Christians are messengers from a higher being and have the power to defeat the odds. While these words may not strike your heart strings at the first encounter, it’s important to learn them because when the time is right these prayers for peace on earth with be your saving grace.

Almighty God, from whom all thoughts of truth and peace proceed, kindle in the hearts of all men the true love of peace, and guide with Your pure and peaceable wisdom those who make decisions for the nations of the earth; that in tranquility Your kingdom may go forward, till the earth be filled with the knowledge of Your love; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Our God is all knowing and He provides a deep sense of truth and peace for everyone in the world. The Lord can guide us when we’re blinded by the actions of others and the turmoil that is taking place in the world. It’s important to remember that the Lord’s guidance will grant us to salvation, but without His assistance we might as well be walking with our eyes shut. Look for ways you can use the world and your talents to create a more peaceful environment. Allow Jesus Christ to speak to you through your surrounding world and the people within it.

Find comfort in knowing that Jesus Christ recognizes your pain. Even though you may feel isolated and forgotten, know that the Lord is present for all of His children. Sometimes it’s hard to identify God’s presence when tragedy strikes our lives. It’s important to remember that God has a bigger plan and while our hearts are broken they will eventually mend. When you’re going through a difficult time in life, it’s hard to wrap your mind around why this horrific situation is taking place. The Lord will always be willing and able to be your foundation and help you heal – no matter how deep your wounds may feel.

We pray for all whose lives have been touched by tragedy, whether by accident or a deliberate act. For those who mourn, immerse them in your love and lead them through this darkness into your arms, and light. For those who comfort, be in both the words they use and all that's left unspoken; fill each heart with love. We ask this through Jesus Christ, whose own suffering brought us life, here and for eternity. Amen.

As Christians, we pray for those who are suffering and touched by tragedy. These prayers for peace on earth allow Christians to come together for the greater good within society. It’s important through thick and thin that we continue to unite as a community. Even though we are all mourning due to evil acts, we must see the light that awaits at the end of the tunnel. Calling upon our Lord and Savior when obstacles arise helps to combat the evil that lives and unifies us as Christians – no matter where we may live or seek shelter.

Our God is great and we can be a witness to His greatness through the prayers for peace on earth that we pronounce. Our words are a testimony to His relentlessness to never give up on His people. When you’re feeling down and depressed, find comfort in knowing that your God is looking down from heaven and will allow the sun to shine another day. It’s hard to stay grounded and Christian when difficult situations present themselves, but we must stand united knowing that our Lord will prevail. If you place your faith in Jesus Christ, you’ll find that His messages aren’t so hidden. There will be times in life when He speaks to you through actions and your surroundings.

Evilness can overshadow the brightest days however, Christians must stand confident knowing that their prayers peace on earth are heard no matter what occurs. Darkness will never prevail, light will always trump darkness. We must never give in to the negativity that encircles the madness, instead we must shout our praises louder and look for ways we can make our Lord and Savior proud. Seek out ways charity can make the world a better place and help to fight against the violence that lives on earth. It’s our mission as Christian followers to be the change and hope when the waters get muddy. Through Christian action each individual can make all the difference.

We must never give up on our prayers for peace on earth. It is our duty as Christians to fight for peace and to always be righteous. No matter how compelling other avenues may appear, it’s important to remember that good will always trump evil. Jesus Christ sacrificed Himself so that we can continue to live our day-to-day. He wanted more for us therefore, we must uphold His honor and do our best to live as peacemakers on earth. We cannot judge others – we must leave judgment up to our Lord and Savior. If we walk through life without stereotyping others, then you’ll discover a brighter world and a bigger community of peacemakers.
