4 Ways God Will Provide When Unemployed

If you’re unemployed your faith, this time more than ever, will play a huge role in your life. The Bible says that we as Christians must entrust in God to be there through thick and thin. God will provide everything that you need. Hebrews 4:16 says, “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” While it may not seem, in the heat of the moment, that He’s by your side – you must know that He has a bigger plan of action.

The Lord’s willingness to provide is mentioned again in Psalm 50:15, “Call upon me in the day of trouble, I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.” No matter what has happened, God is saying that He will always be there to give you the essentials to live. It’s a lot easier said than done when it comes to being unemployed. Not having a source of production and a means to an income can be very daunting, especially if you’ve worked in one location for a long amount of time. However, we’re here to show you the many ways God will provide for you.

Natural Resources

Proverbs 21:1 says, “The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord; He turns it wherever He will.” Modernity has allowed us to get wrapped up within the amenities that can be purchased at a store. However, because of these luxuries sometimes from time-to-time we forget about the natural resources that God provides us with through nature. The tall trees that assist in providing us air, the beautiful grass that houses food for plants and flowers, and who could forget the waters that surround our lands. God knew that we had to have water to survive and made sure that it was reachable for mankind.

As you battle your struggles with unemployment, venture out to the great outdoors and allow the open terrains to be a fortuitous for your needs. Food, shelter and water are provided everyday by the Lord. Make the most out of the resources that are given to you. Lastly remember the aspect of tranquility that nature provides because that too is a natural resource. The peace and solitude that nature offers is often taken for granted and should be a platform that is thoroughly cherished.

Emotional Support

Matthew 6:33 says, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” When you are struck with the blow of unemployment your emotions are in a whirlwind and you feel somewhat slighted by mankind and of course the man upstairs. However, instead of misguiding your frustrations towards your Lord and Savior, push forward and put your faith in His hands. Allow your emotional burden to be your Lord and Savior’s – it’s okay, He understands and is equipped to deal with everything. Entrusting your future in God will let Him see that you have faith in His actions and those brought forth from the Christian faith. You’ll have to be patient because, of course, God works in mysterious ways and His plan is bigger than you can quite understand. Therefore, communicate to Him – not just the negative things, but also the good. As you’re applying for other jobs and exploring other options, reach out to Him and give Him positive feedback. You’ll discover that unemployment provides a newfound relationship with your Lord and Savior and will help you deal with your emotions on a more resourceful level.

Paying Bills

Psalm 37:18-19 says, “The Lord knows the days of the upright, and their inheritance shall be forever. They shall not be ashamed in the evil time, and in the days of amine they shall be satisfied.” It doesn’t matter if you’re running your household from a dual income or you’re the main breadwinner in your family, the first thing that enters an unemployed person’s mind is, “How will I pay my bills without a job?” There’s no way around the scary feeling that embodies your mind, body and soul as you go through the list of bills you have and the obligations that are present within your life. Find security in knowing that there are a lot of options readily available to those who want it. The Lord will place opportunities within your path to help pay your bills – you must think out of the box.

Make a list of all of your talents and odd jobs that you know people offer. Then scour the advertisements in the newspaper and online. Put the word out to family and friends that you’re unemployed and looking for ways to make a living. You’ll be surprised when God facilitates the right opportunity to surface and before you know it that blessing will cultivate into time well spent. You’ll discover that your yearning for employment will serve as a motivating force along with God’s promise to provide. Remember, the Lord blesses us with talents that to not only individualize us but to also give us the means to better ourselves. Unemployment is a situation where your talents can be showcased.

A Positive Mindset

Habakkuk 3:17-18 says, “Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation.” Your God is powerful and great. Allow His positive record to replenish your self-esteem, presence and mindfulness. Being unemployed can cause a huge emotional toll on one’s self because it knocks the wind out of us and drains our confidence levels.

Talk to Jesus Christ and ask Him to provide you with positivity. Be open to the encounters that He places within your path and allow Him to facilitate an open conversation about your general outlook. God will provide you with the mindset you’ll need to do great things. Moreover, the Lord’s love doesn’t have any boundaries and He can help you see the bigger picture which will reflect in your daily behavior as you strive to look for a new place of employment.

Perseverance

There’s no nice way to put it – unemployment is difficult. Not only does it hurt you financially, but it also hurts you emotionally. Your confidence and self-esteem are unraveled – and your overall perception of self-worth is devalued. Despite all of these blows, know that you have Jesus Christ on your side and God will provide you with what you need to survive. Instead of allowing unemployment to take you down, rise to the occasion and find a newfound presence knowing that your Lord and Savior will not let you down. Stand tall knowing that God will never lead you astray and while it may seem daunting, God’s plan for your life included this challenging obstacle of unemployment because there are better things over the horizon. As you embark on your new journey communicate each day with God and share your hopes and dreams with Him. Allow Him to be part of your journey and give Him the opportunity to provide.
