Dear Friend,
During days like today, it’s important to know that you’re not alone. Unfortunately, there is no redo or undo button. But, you already knew that. I’m sure someone today told you that these troublesome days only make you stronger. And even though, in the back of your mind you believe them there’s probably a bigger part of you that just wants to self-loathe a bit. Right?
Guess what, snap out of it! Or else your bad day will become bad days, a bad week or snowball into a bad month. There’s no real way to sugar coat it – stuff happens. Bad days are just one of the many elements that are part of life. Instead of honing in on the negative, think of the ways things could be worse and count your blessings.
Dale Carnegie said, “Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.” And guess what, it’s absolutely one hundred percent true. The obstacles that we come head-to-head with in life will only make us stronger beings. It’s not about how many times you fall down instead it’s about how many times you get up and keep forging forward. While today may seem like the end of the world or a minor apocalypse, don’t allow this event to take you down because you have tomorrow.
Tomorrow brings forth another opportunity to get it right. Tomorrow provides another platform to propose your cause. You’ll find that tomorrow is another chance to rise instead of succumbing to defeat. It’s important to remember that rainy days do not last forever – unless you’re in Forks. But, for the rest of us there are sunny skies in our forecast. And we must embrace these days and make the most out of them. One of my utmost favorite quotes is by the famous author Jodi Picoult. In her book Change of Heart she said, “There’s always going to be bad stuff out there. But here’s the amazing thing – light trumps darkness, every time. You stick a candle into the dark, but you can’t stick the dark into the light.” Remember that – especially during the dark days. Repeat to yourself, “This will not last forever.” And remember that you’re the only one that can truly get you out of this rut. No one will fight for you like you will fight for yourself. So get out there and fight!
Dig deep into your soul and channel your inner strength. Build from your bad day. What can you do better, what can you learn and teach others? Everything happens for a reason. Obstacles and challenges occur in life so we can overcome them and become better individuals. One day your bad day will serve as a testimonial to a friend who is going through a rough experience. You’ll be living proof that survivors exist. Your bad day will be the groundwork for someone else to model their foundation after.
So friend, wipe your eyes and put the tissues away. Brush off and stand up. Get a game plan in order and move on. You are enough. You are amazing and worth it. When the going gets tough, don’t just get going - leave your imprint and make a difference. You’re tough and can make it through anything.
Good Luck Friend!
