6 Things Angels Can Teach Us

Angels are powerful spiritual beings that are messengers of our Lord. They are mentioned countless times throughout the Bible, and through these stories we can learn a lot about what it means to really be a servant of God. The angels are loyal to Him and do everything in His glory. Psalm 91:11 says “For He will give His angels charge concerning you, to guard you in all your ways.” Got has sent His angels to help us, guard us, and protect us.

Thought the selfless acts of the angels, we are reminded of the selfless love Jesus gave us. As Christians, we want to live our lives as angelic and Christian-like as possible, so that we too can show people what it means to receive unconditional, selfless love.

We can become better Christians when we apply these lessons from the angels in our own lives. Here are some teachings from the angels that can help you grow on your faith journey.

God is Always With Us

The Bible has many stories where angels came to help the characters in need. The disciple of Jesus, Peter, was imprisoned and sentenced to death for his beliefs in God. He was bound by chains and under the watchful eye of guards; however an angel appeared to him and told him to follow him. The angel led Peter out of the prison without being discovered, and Peter was never found by the King who jailed him. He instead lived many more years preaching the word of Jesus. This story reminds us that God will never leave us, and that we do not need to be afraid. No matter what we face in our lives, we will be able to overcome it with the help of our Lord. God has something planned for us, we just need to trust in His perfect timing.

God Will Protect and Guide Us

The Book of Exodus tells the story of the Hebrew people, who were in dire need of a better place to live. God promised them that He had a place for them to go so they could escape the chains of Egypt. God uses Moses to help lead the people to their new homeland; however Moses was not operating alone. An angel told Moses which direction to go, and provided protection over the group. This story teaches us that God will always protect His faithful children, and give them a way out. When we show the Lord our devotion to Him, He is able to give us guidance, wisdom and safety in return. He can help push us towards our goals, but we have to trust in His ability to see the bigger picture.
