When Mary willingly broke open her treasured alabaster box, the fragrance of her sacrifice filled the room and still lingers today. When Martha bowed her heart rather than raising her fist at Christ’s rebuke, the fragrance of humility was released and her life was changed. And when Jesus, in humble obedience, allowed Himself to be broken upon the cross, His sacrificial death made it possible for you and me to really live. So bring on the breaking, Lord!
