The "Buy One - Get One" Campaign
Whitestone Media and Child Evangelism Fellowship are doing something pretty cool with their latest DVD release, "Theo." The cartoon, about an grandfatherly English man who teaches children (and curious church mice) about God's word, is out now and, if you purchase a copy, a second copy will be automatically donated to child who might not otherwise get a chance to watch it.
It's called the "Buy One - Get One" campaign (find out more about it here
), and since the series is available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Hindi, and Japanese, it will be going out to kids all over the world.
Here are some words from the publisher about the cartoon and the impact it can make.
“Theo” uses high-quality animation, timeless Bible stories and liberal doses of humor to guide young-at-heart audiences through a systematic study of the foundations of Christianity.
“Theo the Theologian loves God, and he loves children (of all ages), of all nations and ethnicities,” creator Mike Joens said. “He teaches the fundamentals of Christianity in a way that is both entertaining and biblically sound to kids from two to 92 who love cartoons and have an appetite for God's Word.”
“I eventually want to use ‘Theo’ to present the Gospel to men, women and children in every country around the globe,” Joens said.
CEF ministers to children in more than 170 countries. “Theo” DVDs will be distributed through CEF’s Boxes of Books initiative. CEF mails more than 1,000 boxes per month.
“Child Evangelism Fellowship is dedicated to seeing every child reached with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, discipled and established in a local church,” said Reese Kauffman, president of CEF. “That makes ‘Theo’ a perfect match for us.”
