Buzzfeed asked four women to participate in an experiment. First, they were invited to share their preconceived notions about women who wear hijab. Then, Edina Lekovic, a Muslim woman who has worn hijab for two decades gave the group her perspective on the complex topic. Finally, with a little guidance from Lekovic, the women put on the hijabs and went out into the world, doing everything from eating at local food spots, to riding on public transportation and flying across country to see how the public responded when they wore them. Learn more about their experience in the video above.
