Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plan I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” While our Heavenly Father assures us that He has clear and unique plans for our lives, it’s not always easy for us to figure out our next steps on our own. Often, we can’t figure out where we are being led. Sometimes, God is trying to lead and guide you down a unique path, but it’s impossible to figure out because you can’t hear His voice. There are times when He will put clear signs in front of you, and other times where the signs couldn’t be further from you. This is when prayer comes in. Specific prayers can help guide you in the right direction. Here are five prayers for God to direct your next steps.

A Prayer For Clearer Calling

Sometimes when God is directing your steps, you will feel called to help others because you feel led to. Romans 7:4 says, “Now you belong to Him…in order that you might be useful in service to God.” One of the best ways to show God’s love and reflect His presence is through our calling. No matter what field you’re in, you are always called to serve Christ. If you feel an urge to do something that is bigger than yourself, God may be trying to lead you down a particular path. Turn to this prayer to under your calling better: Dear God, I am humbly calling out to You. I need you. Please help me to start doing things Your way. A Prayer For a Life Shift

There are times when God will open doors, you never expected him too. There are also times when He will open the door to get your attention and direct you down a higher calling path. Mark 10:45 says, “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve.” This reminds us that we should lives like that shows our service to others. If the position your in doesn’t reflect this, Jesus may be trying to open your eyes and help you pay attention. It’s important to remember that this clarity may not happen immediately. The start of a new relationship could be a sign that God is directing you down the right path. It’s crucial to figure out how He is leading you. The important part is listening to what the people around you are saying and what God is telling you. Maybe God wants you to move away from unhealthy, toxic relationships, to be with people who uplift you and will guide you on your faith path. Turn to this prayer to figure out your relationship: Dear God, I am confused about the relationship I’m in right now. I don’t know if it’s time to close the door or work on restoring it. Please help me to gain clarity. Also, ensure that the relationship I’m in fully reflects You. Amen.

A Prayer to Reconnect With Your Faith

Another significant sign that God is directing your steps is when He leads you to strengthen your faith. Maybe you have been ignoring calls to go back to church or open your Bible when you suddenly feel called to talk to God. If this is happening, don’t think it is for no reason. The Holy Spirit may be working on bringing you closer to God. You don’t want to miss the message He is sending you. Turn to this prayer to reconnect with your faith: Dear God, I have fallen off course with You. I am desperately in need of Your love, care, and guidance right now. Please wrap Your loving arms around me so that I can feel Your closeness and redefine my faith. Amen.
