Prayer is an extraordinarily powerful way to prepare for the last days. Prayer is listed in Ephesians 6 as a spiritual weapon, one that we can use for the end times. While we know as Christians that reading God’s Word and practicing prayer is imperative, it becomes even more powerful when we combine the two. As we focus on God, we can confidently pray for His will each day of our lives. There is power in praying without ceasing. Often, people pray ineffective prayers without even realizing it. We may be praying prayers that God has already given us answers to. We are living in war times. Our prayer must reflect this. Here are four prayers for the end times.

A prayer for spiritual battle.

As previously mentioned, we are entering some of the darkest days. We have to choose how we will respond. We have the option to respond in fear. This would be choosing to stay in our comfort zone and believing that the war that is taking place around us won’t impact us. We also have the choice to hide our in fear and simply wait for Jesus’ return. Many people will deny the very signs that the end times are happening. However, there is another option that is more powerful and effective. We can use the tools God has given us to prepare for spiritual battles. In order to do this, we must put on the full armor of God. There is nothing the enemy would love more than to stop the fulfillment of God’s promises. This is why it’s so important to pray to be prepared for spiritual battle: Dear God, we pray for Your mercy, that You guide us in Your direction, for we can’t find our way. Strengthen us against the devil’s attacks and shield us from the spiritual battles we face today. You are our Maker and Redeemer. Amen.

A prayer for testify the truth about God.

Revelation 12 tells us how we should prepare for the end times. It also gives us tools that we can utilize. Revelation 12:1 says, “And they [believers on earth] overcome him [satan] by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” This is the same Lamb referenced in John 1:29 who takes away the sin of the world. When we testify to the truth about God, it becomes real. If we choose not to, nothing occurs. Our personal testimony has the power to defeat the enemy. Testifying God’s Word causes us to experience a unique opposition to the devil. Remember, the enemy is ok with us believing anything until we start sharing our testimony. This disturbs the devil because he’s afraid of us declaring the Word of God. Remember, your testimony has great power: Dear God, I know that my personal testimony has great power. Please help me to have the courage and wisdom to share my testimony in Your perfect timing. Today is a great day to share my testimony, especially with those who don’t know You. Allow the Holy Spirit to work through me and guide me to share exactly what You want me to share. Help me to be able to see the people you place in my path who need to hear my testimony. Amen.

A prayer for the right words to use against the enemy.

The Bible is the most effective spiritual weapon to use for the end times. We must use God’s Word to battle the enemy and the forces of evil. There is no way to move past evil unless we are alive in Christ. This is why we need to have access to God’s wisdom, resources, power, and weapons that He has placed in front of us. We have to know that scripture teaches about evil and God's provision for us to overcome evil. Many believers know there is power in the Word, but we don’t know how to use it against the enemy. Remember, hearing the Word isn’t the same as using it. If we can use the Bible against the devil, it is a big sign of our spiritual maturity: Dear God, I know we face many attacks from the enemy. Please guide me in not allowing the enemy to control my thoughts. I pray that He doesn’t fill me with evil thoughts and doubt. Help me form the right words to use against the enemy during these dark days of spiritual attack. Amen.

A prayer to utilize the Holy Spirit.

If we want to defeat the enemy, we have to trust in the Holy Spirit. God equips us with the Spirit to guide us and restore us. The gifts of the Spirit are the weapons and tools we need to do God’s real work. When a believer is equipped with the Holy Spirit's power, they have more power than they can even begin to imagine to wage an attack against the enemy. While we have these tools in our arsenal, many of us don’t know how to use them. When we don’t know how to properly use what God has given us, we can find our situations increasingly difficult. God gave us weapons and armor for a reason. We need them: Dear God, we are aware the enemy is a liar but it’s not always easy to overcome every lie he places in front of us. Moving forward, please help me condemn the thoughts that the enemy sends to penetrate my mind. Help me to utilize the Holy Spirit in all battles against the enemy. We have the power to defeat the enemy because we have the blood of Jesus and the promise of His ultimate return. Amen.

God gives us the ability to battle the enemy and the end times with prayer. Being present to God’s Word and actively praying is life-changing. It can be the difference between victory and defeat in the final days. As we continue to face even bigger spiritual battles than we ever have before, we can find comfort in Jesus Christ. Pray, put on the full armor of God, and trust in God’s mighty Word.
