A Gift of Fire?

In September, both my daughters had to move back home. We were in a small apartment, [so] I started searching for bigger places. I found a place I REALLY wanted. I started with an e-mail to the apartment complex and we were going back and forth and it all sounded so good.

Well, I thought our lease was up in October, and it wasn't up until January. I was disappointed. I put my worship CD's in my computer and was looking at all these nice places and begging God to help us. Well, on September 26 the neighbor kids set [our] apartment on fire. I stood in front of my home and watched huge flames [shoot] out of the roof of my apartment and lots of smoke pouring out my windows and doors. It was devastating. I cried and prayed, and something told me to just calmly walk through this.

Well, between Red Cross and a whole lot of praying, I am now in the apartment I wanted so bad. God didn't give it to me easily, but He did give it to me His way. I believe wholeheartedly that was my prayer being answered.

God truly does hear us and put us where we need to be.

God Is Good, All the Time

My husband was going through a really hard time at work. My prayer partner and I began interceding for him and the company that he works for. God began to reveal [that] the management company that was over his [place of business] had two different visions. They were pulling in opposite directions. (The place my husband works has Christian values but the management company gauged their success by the bottom line.) We began to ask God to change the management company's values or remove them without anyone losing their jobs.

In November 2007, the management company and the place where my husband works decided to part ways. Now the company manages its own business according to their values, and no one lost their job or benefits.

I am very grateful for God's goodness to us.

God Healed My Son

My son had been complaining of leg pain for some time. I felt bad because he had this pain for about three months, and I procrastinated on making an appointment for him. I don't know why, but something told me to pray for the pain to heal and leave my child, so I asked my teenager if it was okay to pray for him. I began my prayer quest for my son, and also saw him praying with me. I don't know what happened, but I felt different. My body and hand where I was touching my son were tingling all over with heat and electrical sensation. I felt like the negative pain was being sucked out of his body and leaving through my hand. I felt my other hand had strong sensations, electrical and throbbing, flowing out of me. I had this hand away from my son, and then after the prayer was done I felt it was okay to stop.

I asked my son how he felt and he said, "I don't know yet as I don't have any pain." Then, within two to three minutes, my son yelled out to me, "Mom my pain is gone!"

For the next day or two I kept asking my son, "Is your pain gone? How do you feel?" He said, "Mom, it's gone! I don't feel anything at all." I felt the Lord gave us a blessing, and I can only say this is the truth-not wishing or hoping-just faith in the Lord that told me to pray for him.

Strength and Growth Through Suffering

Last year I found out that I had a rare form of cancer and a tumor that was taking over my chest. The doctors had let me go four months, telling me that I had the flu. The hardest thing I had to deal with in my life was the day that they told me it was cancer.

Although this was a very bad situation, the Lord has been healing me, and I finished the chemo this past October. I would also like to add that though this was a negative situation, I have gotten a lot of positive things out of it. I think that this experience has turned me around. I feel much more spiritually connected with the Lord and I realized that the Lord has given me a lot of strength and hope.

God Saved Me from Drugs

I'm 48 years old and a recovering drug addict [because of] Jesus Christ. I started drugs at age 10, and used for 32 years. I went to the Lord through my son, who wanted to be baptized, which got me into the church.

I hated my life and I wanted a way out. I prayed for the Lord's help to get off the drugs because I couldn't do it myself, and I couldn't as long as I was with my husband because neither one of us would truly quit.

Boy, did he answer quick! Within a week, [God] took me off my feet with two sprained ankles to make me think about what I was doing to myself and my children's lives. And my husband was arrested and taken away from me. I put the drugs down, and for six years I have been clean.

Don't misunderstand-this was the beginning of a journey of faith, through test and trials. It's been a long journey and things have happened in life that are good and not so good. But I have learned that all things work for the good to those who believe.

All things are possible with God!

Thank God for Providing a Home

I have had so many answered prayers and I am so thankful for every one. But one sticks out in my mind.

Back when my husband and I first bought our home, we fell behind on house payments because I was out of work. We were about to lose our home. We didn't tell anyone about it; it was between us and God. We were faithful to God and we were always faithful in our giving. We prayed so hard, and then one day God answered our prayer and allowed us to keep our home through a help program. I was so happy the day that I received the news, I just got down on my knees and started thanking God.

He allowed us to keep our home, and I will always be thankful for that.
