Day of Atonement
Yom Kippur is the most solemn day on the Jewish calendar. This day is set aside to atone for our sins during the year and when God closes the Book of life and Death for the following year. Yom Kippur or Day of Atonement is the last time to repent, sacrifice, forgive, and make amends. "If a person fasts for his/her sins, and goes again and does the same things, who will listen to her / his plead. And what has (s)he gained by humbling him/herself?" - Sirach or Ecclesiasticus 34:26
