The joyous news that 15-year-old Elizabeth Smart had been restored to her family more than nine months after being kidnapped set off not only celebrations and tears of gratitude, but renewed faith in the power of prayer.

Elizabeth's father, Ed Smart, told reporters, "We just got on our knees in the police conference room and prayed and thanked God for this miracle."

Tom Smart, an uncle of Elizabeth's, noted, "Absolutely, it's a miracle. We've always believed miracles exist....I don't think any little girl was prayed for more in the history of the world."
