Proof That God is Real

The question is asked every day by people that call themselves Christians and even those who don’t – is there any proof that God exists? There is a story in the Bible about Thomas, who would never state that he believed in the existence of Jesus unless he could physically touch Him. While this may sound presumptuous, this idea and relativity still exists today. What many do not understand is part of accepting faith means you must receive the unseen – which in relation to this question means God.

Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ left us the Bible. Not only does it include the message of Christianity, but it provides us with the proof that He once existed physically and paid the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. There are a number of theorists who push the envelope and choose to question the journey that Christ took. However, for these theorists that question every multitude of existence, there is nothing that can sway them into a different viewpoint. But for Christians making the argument that God is real, there are several talking points that can be made. Within the world, and our everyday life, there are so many instances and objects that directly prove the existence of God.

Nature

Look around you – the trees, grass, flowers, insects, birds flying, and the breeze blowing. Nature proves that God is real. When God created human beings, He knew that they would need a prosperous world to live in – thus nature. God understood the complexity that our galaxy and universe possess therefore, He created a world that we could all live freely in. In order to take the breaths for survival, God knew that we would need nature to sustain it all. Think about it nature provides food, sunlight, shade, shelter and air to breath. It would be foolish to think that all of the glories that exist in nature are available just because – there is a meaning for every item’s existence.

The idea that God provides comes from His creation of nature. He knew what His children would need and He didn’t leave them empty handed – nor will He ever turn His back on them.

Look within. God has a plan for you. The Lord created your fingerprints for existence and instilled the innate knowledge of what is right and wrong. Think about it, even a young child knows when they’re misbehaving and going against their parent’s wishes. The idea of good and evil comes from God and is placed within us all so that we can maintain balance. Moreover, the innate idea of good and evil gives human beings the opportunity to comprehend God’s forgiveness.

Also, we all have the desire to love and be loved. Ultimately, we all want to be accepted. Throughout our individual lives, we all try to fulfill our soul’s desire. No matter what is done money, drugs, alcohol, sex, or materialistic items – the void cannot be filled with physical items; instead love and acceptance is the desired fulfilling element. The notion that God created us, that God is real, and that he still watches over us is innately part of our existence.

Jesus Christ

Take a look at the life of Jesus Christ when you’re in doubt that God exists. Not only was He a man, but He was the being that changed the course of life for everyone. The Bible captures when that man walked on water, calmed a storm, and made a man rise from the dead. Jesus himself conquered death and rose again to ascend to heaven. From the day He was born, Jesus greatly impacted the world. Then in His life, death, and resurrection Jesus shaped the world, changed lives, and healed souls. A normal man would never be able to achieve these measures.

Moreover, the words we utter in prayer reinforce God’s existence. We speak words to someone we cannot physically see because we know that there is so much more to our existence and the world in general. There is no other way to explain the unexplainable – and accepting this is the defined truth.

Observations

Think about the observations that scientists and other theorists have found. For example, discoveries in astronomy have shown beyond a reasonable doubt that the universe did, in fact, have a beginning. There was a single moment of creation.

Advances in molecular biology have revealed vast amounts of information encoded in each and every living cell, and molecular biologists have discovered thousands upon thousands of exquisitely designed machines at the molecular level. Information requires intelligence and design requires a designer. Furthermore, biochemists and mathematicians have calculated the odds against life arising from non-life naturally via unintelligent processes. The odds are astronomical. In fact, scientists aren't even sure if life could have evolved naturally via unintelligent processes. If life did not arise by chance, how did it arise?

Philosophers agree that a transcendent Law Giver is the only plausible explanation for an objective moral standard. So, ask yourself if you believe in right and wrong and then ask yourself why. Who gave you your conscience? Why does it exist?

Lastly, people of every race, creed, color, and culture, both men and women, young and old, wise and foolish, from the educated to the ignorant, claim to have personally experienced something of the supernatural. So what are we supposed to do with these prodigious accounts of divine healing, prophetic revelation, answered prayer, and other miraculous phenomena? Ignorance and imagination may have played a part to be sure, but is there something more?

Miracles

If you believe in miracles then there shouldn’t be a doubt that God exists. A miracle is an event whose only adequate explanation is the extraordinary and direct intervention of God. There are an array of well-attested miracles that have occurred; therefore, those instances explain the extraordinary acts of God. Therefore God exists.

While some events do not qualify as miracles – whether they’re because of nature or a strange happening. Ultimately, there is no other explanation for the idea behind miracles. God comes forward when He is needed and performs miracles. Non-believers will never sway their minds because they have pushed out the notion of God’s existence. Therefore, miracles exist for Christians because it ignites their hope and faith. They understand that God only acts when it is within their path and is needed to continue on with their journey. There is no other real explanation because God is the only one who has the real answers.
