Devotion to be Brave
Do you let fear rule your life? You are not alone. When the Israelites were on the edge of the Promised Land the Lord told Moses to send scouts ahead. When the scouts returned, they reported the large amount of people who lived there. They became fearful that the fight and difficult that was ahead of them. They cried hopelessly saying “we can’t do it!” however Caleb saw it differently.
Numbers 13:30 says “Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, ‘We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.’” Instead of being afraid, Caleb focused on the power, presence and plan of God. Caleb had faith in the unseen and He put his trust in God.
Sometimes it’s hard to see that God is leading our lives. He doesn’t always shout directions from Heaven or gives us miracles. He likes to work in subtle ways and have us stop to listen. Caleb was paying attention to God, and because of this he was able to let fear go. He was brave and trusted in the Lord, and benefited because of it.
