That You Are Respectful

“We ask you, brothers, to respect those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, and to esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves.” 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13

Whether you worked a job for three months of three years, employers want to see that you had a positive relationship with the people you worked with, especially individuals who were in positions of authority. If they contacted the references on your resume, would they not only remember who you are but speak highly of your relationship with others in the company? As 1 Thessalonians tells us, respect the people you work with. This trait is invaluable.

That You Give Back

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.” –Matthew 25:35-45

This is an area that individuals often forget to include when it comes to constructing a resume. Including community service and opportunities where you’ve given back, could be a major factor that resonates to your future employer. Showcase these opportunities in your resume. As Jesus expresses in Matthew 25, employers want to see that you are open to sharing your time and resources with others, without a need for self-gratification, because these are the kinds of selfless gifts that will benefit any workplace.
