God's Love

God’s love is always washing over you, but sometimes you may not feel His love. Slow down in life and start to notice the powerful signs that God loves you.

Throughout your life, you may have experienced moments where you have felt God’s love. These are obvious signs of God’s love for you; however, it can be challenging to fully embrace His love if you don't feel it. This is why it is important to be aware of other powerful signs that God loves you.

1. A Bible Verse Reminds You

“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God” (1 John 4:7).

God’s love is revealed to you in His Word. In the Bible, we are taught that Jesus died for our sins (John 3:16-17). It is because of the Lord that you have eternal life, forgiveness of sins, and salvation. Even when you do not feel His love, try to remind yourself of His powerful Word. Open up your Bible, study what it says, and apply its teachings into your life.

A Bible verse to reflect on is Romans 8:38-39, “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Even when you do not feel God’s love, take solace in knowing He loves you. Nothing in all creation can separate you from His love.

2. You Awaken to a New Day

“The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad” (Psalm 118:24).

Although it is common to overlook the blessing of a new day, it is a powerful sign of God’s love. Any day on this earth could be your last, therefore, give thanks to the Lord for every day you have in this world. God has a wonderful plan for your life, regardless of your age, background, or socioeconomic status (Jeremiah 29:11). When you wake up in the morning, tell yourself, “God loves me.”

Each new day is a change to glorify God, serve Him, and obey Him. Seize the day and make the most of every opportunity (Ephesians 5:15-16). Even when you don't feel God’s love is shining bright in your daily events, encounters, and routines, take solace in knowing He is with you and loves you. It is a wonderful blessing to know the Savior of our souls.

3. God Answers a Prayer

“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (Mark 11:24).

Although it can be challenging to feel God’s love at times, it is always around you. Think about the last time God answered a prayer. Perhaps you prayed for the Lord to direct your steps concerning a new job shift or a new relationship. God answering with “yes,” “no,” or “wait” attests to His love for you.

None of us want to hear “no” or “wait,” but they are sure promises of God’s love for you. Continue to wait for your prayers to be answered, but take joy in the present moment. God loves you, and His love will never be taken away. Through the hills and valleys in life, God will be with you (Psalm 23:1-6).

4. God’s Presence Goes Before You

“He says, ‘Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth’” (Psalm 46:10).

You may not feel God’s presence right now, but it is always before you. Whether you are walking to school, driving to work, or peacefully sitting on your front porch, God is with you. This powerful sign attests to God’s love. He goes before you, protects you, and covers you with grace (Psalm 91:1-4).

When you are in doubt, sit at His feet in prayer. You don't have to feel God's love to know it is there. Choose to rely on what you know in the Bible rather than how you are feeling. Feelings can change suddenly; therefore, they are not always accurate. God always loves you, regardless of your feelings.

5. A Subtle Reminder of God’s Love

“God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us” (Acts 17:27).

A powerful sign of God’s love even when you don't feel it is in the subtle reminders of everyday life. The sunset after a tiring day, the calm ocean waves while you are on vacation, or warm covers in the dead of winter. God’s love is always around you and He welcomes you into His embrace. Each time you see a new flower bloom, a bird tweeting, or the beautiful stars in the night sky, remind yourself that this is a reflection of the love God has for you.

Choose to rely on what you know in the Bible rather than how you feel. God will meet you where you are and continue to help you see His love in your everyday life. He wants you to know that He loves you, covers you with His grace, and protects you with His strength. May we all praise our wonderful God!

There are many powerful signs of God's love for us. Even when we don't feel God’s love, we can see His power at work in our lives, such as a Bible verse that reminds us of His love, a fresh start to the day, an answered prayer, His presence, and the subtle everyday reminders of His love.
