Josh Hoover was born on June 25, 2003, in Heath, Texas. The 6'2”, 200-pound redshirt senior is pursuing his master's degree at Indiana University. He's the newest starting quarterback for the Hoosiers after transferring from Texas Christian University.
With the Horned Frogs, Josh threw for 9,629 yards and 71 touchdowns while completing 65 percent of his passes (771/1183). He helped lead the team to a 9-4 record but chose not to play in the Alamo Bowl. His play earned him many accolades, including the 2024 New Mexico Bowl Offensive MVP and the 2025 Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week.
Josh hopes to draw on past experiences to lead the Hoosiers back to championship-level football in the 2026 season. Regardless of the outcome, he knows his identity isn't in sports because Jesus already won by giving him eternal life. This frees him to live by Luke 10:2, using football as a platform to share the Gospel.
