Marcel Reed is 6'1”, 185 pounds and wears number 10 as the starting quarterback for Texas A&M University. He was born on July 8, 2004, in Nashville, Tennessee. He is a redshirt junior who's majoring in agricultural leadership and development.
He's also a leader on the field, who's started 21 of 27 possible games. He's completed 402 of 653 passes with a 61.6 completion percentage. He's also thrown for 5,407 yards and 41 touchdowns, despite throwing 19 interceptions.
Thanks to his impressive play, Marcel has become a team captain after finishing the 2025 season ranked in the top three among quarterbacks nationally. Entering the 2026 season, he hopes to live up to the expectations that come with being on the Maxwell Award Preseason Watch List.
Thankfully, he can withstand the pressure by staying connected to mentors like the Aggies' team chaplain, Darius Dunaway. Mentors like Dunaway will help him stay grounded and hold him accountable when he fails to practice his spiritual disciplines consistently. He can also continue to praise God in everything, knowing that nothing is possible without Him (1 Thessalonians 5:18; Matthew 19:26).
