Jeff Foxworthy's American Bible Challenge
When the Game Show Network announced that it was holding an open audition at a Dallas suburban shopping mall for Jeff Foxworthy's American Bible Challenge, hundreds of hopeful contestants showed up from all walks of life – including this unlikely team that called itself "The Pool Boys." Grandpa, 65, is a corporate executive. Dad, 33, is a heart surgeon. And John Mark, 8, is a third grader.
Show screeners initially told them that the show has a age limit of 12. However, officials went into a huddle and ruled that if John Mark could pass the tough written test required of all contestants, he would be allowed to move on to the next level -- a video screen test. Grandpa aced the test with a perfect score. Dad did OK, and John Mark? He got answers even his dad missed. "Next round!" said show officials.
