If you listen closely to Mumford & Sons, you’ll notice a lot of biblical and spiritual references. That makes sense when you learn that frontman Marcus Mumford grew up in a family deeply involved in Christian ministry.
His parents, John and Eleanor Mumford, became well-known leaders in the Vineyard church movement in the UK. Marcus was born in California while his British parents were helping start a Vineyard church there, and the family moved back to England when he was still a baby.
Faith and worship were part of Mumford’s life from the start. Years later, you can hear that influence in the music that made Mumford & Sons famous.
