As we all know ( the entire world) there is a shaking that is taking place, a pandemic. People have lost loves ones. People have lost jobs. And some may even be feeling like they are losing their minds being at home confined. But I have good news… this is a time of reset. I believe God is calling us to lay down the busyness and the old way of doing life. We’ve become in a sense like robots- have to do this, have to go here, have to be this. It can feel very scary because this is something so strange, so unusual and life threatening. People, me included want to do what we want to do yet we can also miss out on so much of what God desires for our lives. He specifically says, For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord,” plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”  Now, you might be asking, “where is that good plan?” “I’ve lost my job and the bills are piling up.” Here’s the friction, our plan and God’s plan look vastly different. God works from the inside out, not the outside in. He also says, “we will have suffering.” In the midst of loss, God is still at work on His good plan.  I believe we are in a Selah time ( Stop and Listen).

What is Jesus saying right now? Stop and Listen

What is my child saying right now? Stop and Listen

What is my wife/husband saying right now? Stop and Listen

What is the inside of me saying right now? Stop and Listen

Who I am, really. At night in the dark when you are laying in your bed? Stop and Listen

Is all I care about the grind? Work, home, sleep, repeat.

Where do I spend the majority of my time? Stop and Listen

This is a time to pull back and reflect on who and where you are in this season of your life. Don’t waste it, worrying about things that are beyond your control. Get still and reflect. Talk to God about how you are feeling. It’s just a conversation that may very well open your mind and your heart up in ways that have been shut closed for a very long time.

Now listen, you who say,” Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a midst that appears for a little while and then vanishes.  Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” James 3-13-15
