This coming weekend, the Pope will be visiting Santa Maria di Leuca and Brindisi, in Puglia,

Here’s the schedule: 2 Masses,  gatherings with cloistered religious, young people, bishops and a gathering of priests.
EWTN will cover Sunday’s events.
The shrine in Santa Maria di Leuca is “Santa Maria de finibus terrae” – “St. Mary at the end of the earth” – here’s an amazing photo of the church, courtesy a Flickr user. It is here, the story goes, that St. Peter landed and then began his journey to Rome.

ALSO coming up this weekend is the International Eucharist Congress in Quebec.
The website and schedule is here
Preceding the Congress – which means today through Friday – the International Theology Symposium on the Eucharist is being held. The program for that is here.
EWTN will be providing some coverage of the Congress.
Of course the Canadian Catholic network Salt + Light will be blanketing the coverage – can we access their livestream down here in the US? Anyone know?
Finally, er..the United States Catholic Bishops are meeting this week in Orlando.
I don’t see any EWTN coverage of that meeting. Most of Thursday’s sessions are open to the media and only about an hour on Friday. I don’t know if there will be any livestreaming of the open sessions on the USCCB website (they did provide that for the Pope’s visit, remember.) So if you know, let us know.
