The Mass at St. John Lateran is over – the homily hasn’t been posted yet, but here’s where it will be when that happens. It was just as marvelous as this morning’s – what I heard of it (I came  in during the middle)- and delivered with a tone that is heartfelt – like he’s pulling it out of the deepest place within – yet subdued. I appreciate the translator (the woman who does it for Vatican Radio) – she does a nice job, but there are times I wish there could be subtitles instead, because Benedict’s tone speaks almost as clearly as his words.
