Here in Fort Wayne, a little girl has been missing since Thursday. She apparently never got on the bus, never got to school, and to make things worse, the school never notified the family of her unexcused absence.

(Attendance policies differ in schools, but usually, if a family member has not called the office to report the why of an absence, the school will call home. This was the policy here)

Have you heard about it? I doubt it – a Google search indicates this hasn’t been reported outside the state. Even around here, the coverage is quite muted, focusing mostly on the school. I don’t know if that is because the police know something and they have requested low-key coverage, or if it’s because the little girl’s name is Alejandra Gutierrez.
