Here in the hotel. Did you know the hotel shampoo bottles are the perfect size for a 10-month old to hold triumphantly in his hand as he lurches around a room. (and fyi, he can lurch. He can walk across the whole room now)? Why does holding the shampoo bottle make the lurching experience so much more fun? I’m not quite sure…

Talks went well, as always, with conversations with interesting people included. This time, I was very glad to speak with a young man, a high school student, who’s in a public high school, is very engaged with his faith, calls the big Louisville megachurch "Six Flags Over Jesus" and is reading Theology for Beginners by Sheed for leisure reading. I hasten to add that he had a very good attitude towards 6FOJ, as well, wondering what it is that the Catholic Church in the US could learn from it, and agreed with my contention that the answer to that is the determination and commitment to connect faith to daily life) Good man!

So now I’m back, watching television, wondering if that little orange speck sitting perfectly still, petrified, could possibly be Joseph.
