I just got a call from a parishioner, the wife of an active US Army
Reservist, who is coordinating the temporary relocation of five hundred
families to Fort Custer in Battle Creek.  The call has gone out for bed
linens:  sheets, pillows, pillowcases, blankets, towels and washcloths.
We will be collecting at the following locations:

St. Charles Borromeo Church
150 Taylor Street
Coldwater, MI 49036
517 278-2650

St. Joseph Church
61 N. 23rd Street
Battle Creek, MI 49015
269 962-0165

St. Philip Church
126 Capital Avenue, NE
Battle Creek, MI 49017
269 968-6645

The Army will come to those parishes to collect those items and
distribute to the arrivals.  They will be here in the next 24 hours!  There
will be more parishes of the Kalamazoo Diocese which will serve as
collection centers, but I have had confirmation of those parishes.  It is my
understanding that the Army will also be using Fort Grayling, about
four hours north of us on I-69, for relocated hurricane victims, and they
have the same need for linens, etc.

Thanks, and God bless you!
