A long, long article from the LA Times Magazine. Well worth registering for. Do it.

The only really odd thing about the article, to me, (in an admittedly quick first read) was the failure to put these groups in the context of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Are there any “legal” Tridentine Masses in the Archdiocese? Has anyone tried to get them? How have they been received and treated by the Archdiocese? Is the existence of these chapels and churches only in response to the big picture or is there an element to the local church that feeds their growth as well?

Tod, of course, makes a brief appearance, and you could write his script before you even read what he says.
