William's birthI’m still pregnant. The photo to the left is a reminder of what is coming, soon. For now, I’ve never been so pregnant. Penny was almost 3 weeks early. William was almost one week early. This time, I’m about to reach my due date. And in the end, I’m grateful for the time we’ve been given to prepare for this child to join our household.

A few questions I’m asked regularly:
How are you feeling? Fine. Large and tired, but I’m not particularly uncomfortable. I guess my body has finally gotten used to having thirty extra pounds strapped to its midsection.
Do you know if its a boy or a girl? Nope. We decided to wait to find out this time, in hopes that the surprise would be good motivation for labor.
Do you have names picked out? Yes, but we’ve only shared them with Penny and William. They, however, are lobbying for names different from our picks. William really wants “Carlo,” the name of a boy from school, and Penny thinks it couldn’t be funnier than to name our child after inanimate objects. “Window!” is her most recent suggestion.
Are you excited? Yes. And finally. Assuming I don’t go into labor soon, I’m going to write more on this point. As I already mentioned, the month of January has been a time of preparation. We bought a minivan. We set up the nursery. We dusted off the diaper genie. But we also turned our attention to the wonderous gift of life soon to enter our family.
One final question, which no one has asked me other than my husband: Are you going to take any time off? Yes. I’m setting up blogposts that should run without me for the next three weeks (maybe longer–depends on when labor begins). I’ll announce the baby’s birth, but then I’ll try to ignore the incessant call of the internet and focus my attention on the new little one in our household. So keep checking the blog in my absence, and I’ll see you again soon!
