Presley Gerber, the son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, has died. He was 27.

Gerber’s death was confirmed by a representative for his family, who asked for privacy as they mourn the loss.

“The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time,” the representative said.

According to records from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, Gerber died Sunday, Sept. 20, at a rehabilitation facility. A cause of death has not been announced, and an autopsy had not been completed as of initial reports.

Gerber was the only son of Crawford and Rande Gerber and the older brother of model and actress Kaia Gerber. In the years before his death, he had become increasingly open about his struggles with addiction, depression and mental health.

Presley grew up surrounded by the fashion industry and eventually followed his famous mother into modeling. He signed with IMG Models at 15 and made his runway debut at a Moschino show in Los Angeles in 2016. He later worked with major fashion names including Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabbana and Tommy Hilfiger.

But in recent years, Presley became increasingly open about a much more difficult side of his life.

“Having struggled with mental health, depression and some other things that come along with that, I think that whether I help one person or a hundred people get out of that place that I was in at one point in my life, that’s all I need to do,” he said during a 2023 appearance on the “Studio 22” podcast.

Presley eventually began posting “Mental Health Mondays” videos on Instagram, where he discussed recovery, healthy habits and lessons he had learned from his own experiences.

“Mental health is an issue. It is such a big part of my life. It’s a 24/7 job, and there’s so much to it,” he said.

His goal, he explained, was to turn some of his hardest experiences into something that could help others.

“What I hope I can do is have made the mistakes for some other people, so they don’t have to make the same mistakes that I made,” Presley said.

In a since-deleted Instagram video posted in December 2025, Presley also spoke candidly about panic attacks, medications and feeling alone. He said he hoped his openness might reach someone experiencing the same thing.

“I have a feeling that if I say all of this, a lot of people will at least know that there’s someone else going through it,” he said.

His younger sister Kaia spoke publicly about her brother’s struggles shortly before his death. In Vogue’s September 2026 issue, the magazine described Presley as having faced a “decade-long struggle with drug addiction.”

“When something like that happens in a family, it kind of levels everyone,” Kaia said.

She also described her brother’s willingness to be vulnerable as something their family had learned from.

“My parents for most of our lives were very, very private and didn’t share anything — and now we have this absolute teacher, my brother, who says, ‘I’m gonna be very human for everyone,’” she said.

“There’s only so much you can hide from the world,” Kaia added. “And trying to put a lid on something just makes the person feel like you’re ashamed of them.”

Presley is survived by his parents, Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, and his younger sister, Kaia.
