Being a teacher has it’s perks. Two and a half month summer break, then there’s Christmas break, spring break, fall break, and of course…

…snow days!

Which is where I am right now, snowed in at home. Just like pastoring (my second job), this is a pretty easy gig. All I have to do is hang out with kids and people… Er… I mean… Hang out with people and make sure they learn something about math, or English, or God, or not cheating on their spouse… what I teach depends on where I am, obviously.

And even though I’m one person, I have to remember to not talk about God or parishioners at school, or about my students at church. Then there is the high stakes testing for No Child Left Behind and all the reports and data for that. I think I was supposed to organize a trip to Dallas too. And even though there is snow outside, I need to start working on church summer camp. And, and, and…

Do you have any job applications?

(Be content where God places you.  We can get overwhelmed with any amazing place if we let ourselves.)
