Gracie Hunt, daughter of Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt, is stepping into a new season of life — and she’s making it clear that her faith is at the center of it.

Hunt recently announced her engagement to Derek Green, the son of former Chiefs quarterback Trent Green, in a heartfelt social media post that quickly captured attention. Alongside a series of photos from the proposal, the couple shared a simple but powerful message: “It was always you.”

The images reveal a romantic desert setting, complete with candles, white flowers, and a carefully arranged altar. In one photo, Green is down on one knee while Hunt covers her mouth in surprise. Other moments show their families celebrating together — including Green shaking hands with Clark Hunt and loved ones capturing the emotional moment from the sidelines.

But beyond the beautiful setting, what stood out most was the couple’s clear focus on God.

In a second post, Hunt and Green pointed to Scripture as the foundation of their relationship, quoting Romans 8:28: “‘And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.’”

They also shared a message on Easter Sunday that reflected both gratitude and purpose. “Thank You, Jesus — for salvation, for love, and for this beautiful chapter You’ve written for us,” they wrote. “As we step into this new season of life together, our prayer is simple — to love each other the way You loved the church. Selflessly. Faithfully. Completely.”

It’s a message that resonates with many Christian couples striving to build relationships rooted in Christ — not just romance, but a commitment to sacrificial, faithful love.

Family members were quick to celebrate the engagement and echo that same sense of joy and faith. Hunt’s mother, Tavia, shared her excitement online, writing, “We’re getting another SON!! … God brought these two together in such a special way, and our hearts are overflowing with joy.” She added, “We are so grateful for His hand in their lives and so excited for all that lies ahead.”

Green’s sister also chimed in, expressing gratitude and anticipation for what’s to come: “Words can(not) express how happy I am for you guys! … I’m so excited to see how God blesses this chapter of your lives!”

Hunt and Green first made their relationship public in July 2025, hinting at their connection with a now-viral post. “You look happier,” one caption read, to which Hunt replied, “Thank you, I’m dating my best friend.”

That friendship has now grown into a lifelong commitment — one they openly credit to God’s guidance.

For fans who have followed Hunt as a regular presence at Chiefs games and on social media, this moment feels like a natural next step. And while the setting was stunning and the ring certainly eye-catching, it’s the couple’s shared faith that has drawn the most attention.

In a culture that often celebrates love stories for their glamour, Hunt and Green’s engagement offers something deeper — a reminder that lasting love is often built on a spiritual foundation.

As they begin planning their future together, their prayer says it all: to love “selflessly, faithfully, completely.”
